Charles “Charlie” Simkins

Charlie Simkins, 60, of Bonner Springs, KS has eternally gone fishing after losing his battle with cancer on Thursday, May 20, 2010. Charlie lived life to the fullest, was a social butterfly and made friends wherever he was. He recently retired from the sheet metal union after 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Debbie, daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Cem, sister-in-law and husband, Shawn and Mike and their son Mike Shaver, sisters June, Peggy, Carol and Patsy and many, many friends and extended family. A gathering of friends and family will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at his home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

    I am so sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. I will miss him but consider myself fortunate to have gotten to know him in the last few years. He was always a pleasure to visit with. He was truly one of the good guys, and you don’t meet many of them in a lifetime. God bless him and all of your family.
