Carroll H. Wilkerson

Carroll H. Wilkerson passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Stanberry, Missouri to Nora and Elton Wilkerson on September 19, 1931. After he served four years in the Navy, he completed his BS in Statistics at Missouri University-Columbia (1957). He later graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.

Carroll worked 28 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and retired as a Vice President. While at the Fed, he met his wife, Vivian Westhoff. They were married for 52 years. He was a member of Village Presbyterian Church, worked in the Food Pantry and sang tenor in the choir.

Carroll was preceded in death by his parents, sister Arda Hughes and brother Max. He is survived by his wife Vivian, two brothers; Lloyd of Raymore, Mo and O.E. of Cameron, Mo; one sister, Louise Cummins of Stanberry, Mo. He leaves four children; Kim McNitt (John), Karen Wharton (Jim), Janet Wilkerson and John Wilkerson. He also leaves five grandchildren, Justin and KayC Wharton, Katie, Allyson and Erin McNitt.

A memorial service will be held at Village Presbyterian Church, 67 & Mission Rd, on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 3pm with a reception following the service. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Village Church Choir, Village Church Food Pantry, Village Church Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

    Vivian, I don’t know if you remember me or not. We worked together in Fiscal Agency when you met Carrol. I was raised in Stanberry so knew O E better than Carrol. My memories of the two of you are the love of dancing. My thoughts are with you.
