Billy “Bill” Kennett, 89 passed away on September 4, 2021
He was born January 5, 1932, to Charles and Zula Kennett in Bucklin, Kansas.
After high school graduation, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was a graduate of Dodge City Jr. College and Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. He worked in accounting at KPL in Topeka, Kansas. Then moved to Kansas City, Kansas and subsequently Merriam, Kansas. He worked at Farmland Industries as a Budget Analyst until retiring in 1991. He was a member of Legacy Christian Church, Overland Park, Kansas.
One of his favorite pastimes was reading. Louis L’Amour was one of his favorites whom he managed to read every book he published many times over. He also enjoyed fishing, camping and dirt bike riding with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marthalou of 64 years, son Robert (Melanie) of Excelsior Springs, Missouri and daughter, Jeri Bunnell of Overland Park, Kansas and grandchildren; Brandi Bunnell, David Bunnell, Ashley Curran and Danielle Laundy, and four great-grandchildren, sister Marge Marler of Medicine Lodge, Kansas. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don Kennett.
Service will be a private family gathering.
