Barbara June (Copelin) Swartz, 81, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on September 19, 2021 at home surrounded by the love of her family.
Barbara was born to the late Isaac and Mabel Copelin on December 21, 1939 in Peel, Arkansas. She was the oldest of four daughters.
As a child, her family moved frequently to follow her father’s construction job but they would always return home to Arkansas. Barbara eventually settled in Wichita, Kansas until moving to Kansas City, Kansas in 1988.
Barbara graduated from Yellville Summit High School in 1958. After raising her children, Barbara returned to the workforce as a secretary. She retired from Missouri Gas Energy.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her pride and joy was her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, sister Faith Martin and great granddaughter Rayne Suttle.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 45 years Donald Swartz of Kansas City, Kansas, children Curtis Donoho of Wichita, Kansas, Cherie Love of Topeka, Kansas, and Tiffany Aleman of Kansas City, Kansas, grandchildren Destiny Donoho (Matt Hammond), Logan (Jordan) Donoho both of Wichita, Kansas and Aidan Aleman of Kansas City, Kansas, great grandchildren Riley Suttle and Evelyn Hammond both of Wichita, Kansas, sisters Edie (Ray) Kaiser and Deborah Montroy both of Denver, Colorado, niece Christine (Dan) Grabb of North Bend, Washington and nephew James Martin of Wichita, Kansas.
Per Barbara’s request there will be no official services but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
