Alma Jean (Beach) Snook
Alma Jean (Beach) Snook, 85, drifted into eternal sleep on April 27, 2013, at home, under the care of Gentiva Hospice and her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was born January 16, 1928, in Weston, Missouri. Following graduation from Weston High School she attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. She learned the value of hard work at an early age delivering chickens raised on the family farm to people in Weston.
After leaving home she worked for Dr. Engel on the Plaza, Ford aircraft division, the Research Clinic, the Atomic Energy Commission, the VA, the FAA, A. Louis Ruhl School, the IRS, the USDA, and finished her working career at the Kansas City Star.
She was married to Charles (Buck) Snook for 53 years, from January 16, 1959 until his passing on February 12, 2012. She was preceded in death by parents Thomas Jefferson Beach and Martha Robinson (Sams) Beach, sister Lucille Beach, and husband Charles Elmer Snook. She is survived by her sister Emma (Beach) Frey and brother T. J. Beach of Weston, and sons Danny and Tom, friends Thelma Lee (Smith) Wonderly and Frances Hite.
A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday May 4, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery located about 3 miles north of Weston at 18792 North County Road P.
