Aaron Truman Bellis

October 9, 1978 – August 8, 2021

On Monday, August 2, 2021 Aaron Truman Bellis, son, brother, uncle and cousin, passed away at age 42.

Aaron Truman was born on October 9, 1978 in Kansas City, Missouri to Joe and Susan Bellis.  A lifelong Citian, Aaron enjoyed his family and friends, concerts, soccer and rooting for the Royals and Chiefs.  Truman was his grandfather’s middle name and a favorite President of his father.  He attended Antioch Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas where he skipped First Grade and participated in a statewide spelling bee each year and math pentathlons.  He attended Antioch Middle where he learned to play the cello and was in the schools orchestra and Shawnee Mission West High School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas graduating in 1997.  He grew up playing soccer and referring until he was 16.  After high school he was a Service Manager at Blue Valley Goodyear in Overland Park, KS and continued his education at Johnson County Community College earning himself an Associate of Business Degree.  He started a real estate business with his mother in 2007 then proceeded to have a few different jobs and was a jack of all trades.  He was known for his jovial attitude and friendly demeanor as he never knew a stranger.  He adored cats and definitely had his own sense of style.

Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jack Williamson and Doris White, Claudette Williamson, Violet Geraldine Ray & Joe Bellis, Jr., Uncle Bruce Williamson, Aunt Linda Sue Bellis and Cousin Timothy Cook.  

He is survived by his mother, Susan Bellis, his father, Joe Bellis (Lorraine), sibling Shawn Bellis (Melissa), nieces Savannah, Charlotte, Aurora and Eden Bellis, Aunt Cindy Harris, Uncles William Bellis, Scott Ray, John Williamson, his cousins, Chris Williamson, Christina Strange (James), Tammy Freund (Kevin), William Bellis Jr. (Kendra), Shannon Gorsh (Alan), Lisa Montgomery (Matt), Laura Harvey and Leila Hudson. 

Service

A memorial will be held on Monday, August 9th, 2021 from 1:30-3:30pm at Knox Presbyterian Church, 9595 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS 66212.
