John “Adam” Fletcher, 44, died unexpectedly September 13, 2021 in Kansas City, Missouri. 

He was born April 24, 1977 in Warrensburg, Missouri, the son of John Raymond Fletcher and Mary Lue Courtney.

Adam is survived by his parents John Fletcher and Mary Lue Courtney. Children, Kimberly Miranda (Luis Miranda), Aaron Fletcher, Chloe Fletcher, Nicholas Fletcher, Tyson Fletcher, and Emily Fletcher. Siblings, Timothy “Spank” Courtney, Ryan Fletcher, Larry Fletcher, Stephen Courtney, and Patrick Williams. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Christopher Fletcher, Nicole Fletcher, Kaylynn Rogers, Braydon Courtney, Keaton Courtney, and Kazlyn Courtney as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins. 

Adam graduated from Truman High School in Independence Missouri, class of 1995. He had a passion for working and helping people where he found a career in sales for the past 20 years. He developed life-long friendships and fostered a well-honed sense of humor and had an infectious laugh that was easily recognized from across the room. He made friends everywhere he went. No one was a stranger in the presence of him. He had a passion for grilling and smoking meats. On any given day you could find him in the backyard next to the grill. He also had a love for music, car audio, and video games. He enjoyed spending time with his children camping and fishing. He was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by many.


A Celebration of Life will be held on September 23, 2021, from 5:00-7:30pm at Blue Springs Lake, Shelter B. Turkey Hollow Rd, Blue Springs, MO 64015.

    I Truly Believe In Heaven there’s a spot waiting for him next to my father and friends at some random fishing hole.

    John recently joined the Masonic Fraternity as a member of Harry S Truman Lodge No. 1941. He was raised to the degree of Master Mason on July 31, 2021 and showed great promise as an energetic and promising addition to our Lodge. He will be greatly missed.
