Lawrence “Larry” Edward Evans, 74, went to be with the Lord at his home, on February 15, 2018 in Ottawa, Ks. His final days were spent surrounded by family.
He was born September 22, 1943 in Osawatomie, Ks. to Clarence E. Evans and Helen Louise Bennett. He graduated from Paola High School class of 1962, and attended Emporia State University. He worked at the Sunflower Ammunition Plant in DeSoto, Ks until going to work for Kansas City Power and Light where he retired after 37 years of service.
He attended Calvary Baptist for a number of years, later attended other churches regularly which he enjoyed visiting, but in his last days enjoyed listening to John MacArthur from home.
His interests included family, friends, reading his bible, golfing, tennis, as well as reading novels, traveling, music, and movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Clarence “Pee Wee” Evans. Surviving Lawrence are his four sons, Troy Evans, Kevin Evans, and Mark Evans of Ottawa, and Lance Evans of Lenexa; two siblings, Janie Powell, and Shirley Seck of Paola.
He loved his children, siblings, and the Lord with all his heart. He will be greatly missed.
