Rory A. Glenn

DSCF0903 (7) roy and laura

Rory A. Glenn, 69, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away July 1, 2016 at his home with his wife Laura by his side.

Rory (Roy) was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 6, 1946, and adopted by David and Bette Glenn that specially chose him to be a part of their family..  He grew up in Kansas City for most of his life but also spent time in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in his teen years working on a ranch with another couple that he called Mom & Dad as well. In 1990, he married the love of his life Laura L Moffat in Las Vegas, Nevada with family by their side. Roy loved spending time with his wife Laura, going to the casino, eating great food and lots of it (especially his mashed potatoes), and visiting with his neighbors. For years every weekend, Roy helped Laura with transporting and overnighting rescue dogs, loving on them, and helping give them a new chance at life. He knew no strangers and loved joking and talking to anyone while out with Laura. Many times, when they would do their grocery shopping, Laura would go ahead and finish while he went around and visited with all his friends. Roy was a veteran of the US Armed Forces, serving 3 years.

Roy was preceded in death by his two infant children, Ryan and Rachael Glenn, brother Grant Trogdon, sister Jacque Melton, and many fur children that he loved dearly, especially (Napolean (Great Pyrenees) He is survived by his wife Laura Glenn, sister Leslie Holtz and husband Steve of Kansas City, sister Judi Hill of Tulsa, Oklahoma, many nieces and nephews, pet (Rowdy) and some very special neighbors. Roy was my very best friend, my soul mate, and a wonderful loving husband for 26 years. He will be missed so very much.

Here is the video we shot on his last birthday. (so glad we did)

Services will be held at the National VA Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas in October. Details will be posted later.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to your local animal shelter, or animal rescue group.
