Meredith Naseem Khan, 36, of Lenexa, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2016.
Meredith was born on March 7, 1980 in Shawnee Mission to Ghulam Akbar Khan and Joyce Elaine Khan. A life-long Kansan and graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School, she was pursuing a writing career in children’s literature.
 
Meredith enjoyed many passions including Sci-Fi films, karaoke, 80’s music, and festivals.  She was looking forward to attending the Planet Comicon in Kansas City.
 
Meredith will be remembered most for her love of family, friends, and animals.  Her gentle nature, generous spirit, and child-like view of life brought joy and laughter to all touched by her beautiful soul.
 
Meredith is survived by her mother, her sister, Miranda (Mandy) Khan, and her beloved cat, Layla. She is predeceased by her father; her grandmother, Maxcine Kitterman Decoster, and her uncle, Bennie Duane Frass. She also leaves behind numerous close friends considered a part of her extended family.
A celebration of Meredith’s life will take place on Saturday2-4pm, June 4, 2016 at the clubhouse of the El Conquistador Apartments, 6105 Cortez St., Shawnee, KS 66203.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Meredith’s name to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
