Willie Dixon

Willie Dixon,71, of Overland Park, KS, died on August 4, 2017, just five short months after a diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Born July 13, 1946 to Eunice, Willie was a 1964 graduate of Sumner High School and went on to play football for Coffeyville Community College where he met and married Charlotte Scott. They later moved to Emporia where Willie played football for Kansas State Teachers College. Although they divorced many years later, the marriage produced two children, Angie and Kristi. Willie’s professional life began as a police officer in Emporia before joining the Overland Park Police Department. He later began a long-term career in sales, starting with John Deere and from there he went on to various business adventures.

He is survived by his sister, Gloria Dixon, her children, Tony, Pamela and Kipp; daughter Angela Washington, her daughters Kylie, Kiara, and Kolbi; daughter Kristi Dixon, her son Elijah; and Anita Moore-Metoyer, her children Olivia and Donald Jr. He is preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Dixon and granddaughter Khloe Washington.

Special thanks to Sean, Meghan, Debbie and the rest of the staff at Villa St. Francis for taking such great care of our Dad. We are forever grateful.

Per Willie’s request, the family chose to hold a private service.
