Marjorie Jean White (Noel), 73, passed away at Shawnee Gardens on June 26,2013 under the care of Gentiva Hospice.
She was born in Kansas City and was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. She graduated from Center High school and spent a year at CMSU . She worked in a variety of industries but enjoyed retail the most as a business owner and later sales representative. As a business owner, she became of a proponent of women in business and in 1982 founded Johnson County Business Women which later became Business Women Unlimited. In addition, she was a lifetime member of the Lenexa Chamber of Commerce and was politically active in the community.
She was preceded in death by her son Richard Noel Leichter. Her survivors include daughters Renae Ost (Jeff), Shawnee, KS., Audrey Villines, Overland Park, KS., Lenora Leichter, Santa Cruz, CA.; three granddaughters; Katie & Chloe Sherkat, Shawnee, KS., Serena Leichter, Santa Cruz, CA.; two brothers; Ted Larkin(Cindy), Lenexa, KS., Wayne Noel (Debbie), Olathe, KS.; three sisters; Helen Steuber (Kenny), Lake Pomme de Terre, MO., Donna Nichols(Tony), Jefferson City, MO., Tammy Skole(Will)Peculiar, MO and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 1, 2013, 11:00 am at Amos Funeral Home, Shawnee. The family suggests donations to Gentiva Hospice, 8735 Rosehill, Lenexa 66215.
