Carole Elaine Thomas
Carole Elaine Thomas (“Nanny”) of Lenexa, KS passed away peacefully in the home on March 7, 2017, after a lengthy illness. Carole was born February 28, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, to Henry Lubke and Shirley McHenry Lubke.
Carole lived in the Kansas City area her entire life. She was a homemaker and later worked in the long-term care industry, providing loving and compassionate care to residents. She worked for many years at Life Care Center of Grandview. Carole loved her family first and foremost. She loved going to the boats to play the slot machines, and never missed an opportunity when offered. She loved smoking cigarettes and telling tales. She was one of a kind, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved grandson Charlie, and her first husband, Ralph Generaux.
Carole is survived by three daughters; Rhonda Sexton, Overland Park, KS, Bobbi Generaux, Lenexa, KS, and Kristi Andrades (Alberto), Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Christopher Generaux, Houston, TX, Skyler Ashmore, Merriam, KS, and Kenzie Ashmore, Belton, MO; four great-grandchildren, Autumn, Braedon, Bryson, and Phoenix; and one sister, Linda Hare (Jim), Olathe, KS.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 in the Community Room at Rosewood Place Apartments, 8500 Pflumm Rd., Lenexa, KS 66215.
The family extends their thanks to Crossroads Hospice of Lenexa for their compassionate care over the past several months and, especially, to Judy, Carrie, and Nancy who were much more than care providers to Carole, they were her special friends.
